This
FAQ contains frequently asked questions on launching the QuotePower-Web
service and connecting to the servers.
The Connectivity
Test is a simple way to verify that your computer can establish
a satisfactory connection to the QuotePower-Web servers. Come back to
this FAQ if the results of the test indicate problems with the connection.
1.
The results of the Connectivity Test shows
a .
What does it mean?
It means that your computer could not connect to the QuotePower-Web
servers in the Connectivity Test. Your
computer is likely to be behind a firewall and it is blocking access
through certain ports. QuotePower-Web
uses some particular ports to communicate with the servers. To correct
the problem, ask your systems administrator to open the ports
8044, TCP and UDP protocols, both incoming and outgoing.
If 8044 port cannot
be used, customers are required to upgrade to version 5.1 and above
and set to use "Firewall only" or "Use proxies"
configuration (which sets the application to use TCP 80 port for quotes
streaming), QuotePower-Web should then be able to work with most firewalls
and proxy servers. To test whether your network environment will allow
QuotePower-Web to use TCP 80 port, try the
HTTP Connectivity Test.
2.
The results of the Connectivity Test shows
a speed of connection lower than the acceptable value. What does it
mean?
It means that your connection to the internet is not fast enough to
enjoy a seamless data transfer between your computer and our servers.
Either your modem is not fast enough or your ISP (Internet Service
Provider) cannot provide a good internet connection. Try a different
ISP and see if they can provide a better connection.
